Our Story

How we met

Our story began in 2019 at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, during a Persian cultural event.
What started as a friendly conversation quickly turned into something special, filled with laughter, curiosity, and an instant connection neither of us expected. From study sessions on campus to late-night talks, our friendship soon grew into a relationship built on love, support, and endless laughter.
In January 2021, we packed our memories (and plenty of winter coats!) and moved to Chicago to start a new adventure, where Pedram began his first post doc position. Two years later, in January 2023, Pedram proposed in Chicago! the city that had become such a meaningful part of our story. It was a beautiful, heartfelt moment that perfectly captured who we are: simple, genuine, and full of love. And of course, Nazanin said YES!

New Adventures in California

In 2024, we traded Midwest winters for sunshine and moved to Los Angeles, where Pedram started his new role at Amgen.
In 2025, Nazanin successfully defended her PhD and began her new position at John Deere.
It’s been an exciting new chapter — new city, new beginnings, and the same love that started years ago at that little university event in Minnesota.

What’s Next
Now we can’t wait to celebrate our love in Istanbul, surrounded by our favorite people and the ones who’ve supported us through every chapter.
We’re so grateful to have you be part of our story ❤️

WEDDING VENUE

Venue Photos

SAIT HALIM PASA YALISI

A 19th-century Ottoman mansion located at the heart of the Bosphorus, Sait Halim Pasha Mansion is a unique venue for organizations of all types. Let the mesmerizing Bosphorus view be the backdrop to your ceremony as our experienced team attends to all your needs.

Named after a former Ottoman Grand Vizier, Sait Halim Pasha Mansion was built in the final quarter of the 19th century in Yeniköy, Istanbul.

The first owners of the mansion are believed to be the Duzogulları Family. The Aristarhis Family who acquired the mansion from the Duzogulları demolished it to construct a completely new one around 1863. In 1876 Aristarhis Family sold the mansion to Prince Abdulhalim Pasha, the son of Muhammad Ali of Egypt, often considered the founder of modern Egypt. The mansion, which was considered to be in poor condition and not big enough to suit Egyptian, aristocratic tastes was rebuilt between 1878 and 1880 by architect Petraki Adamandidis of Çanakkale. After Abdulhalim Pasha’s death in 1890 the property was inherited by his nine children. Sait Halim Pasha, gathering all shares from his siblings came into the sole ownership of the mansion in 1894.

The mansion itself was not only a witness to the Ottoman history but a very actor. On 2 August 1914, the German-Ottoman alliance treaty was signed in Sait Halim Pasha’s study, thus leading the Ottoman Empire into World War I as an ally with the Germans, changing the course of history.

Today, Sait Halim Pasha Mansion is one of Istanbul’s most popular venues for social gatherings from weddings to business meetings to special events.
